Fortify Software Will Screen New Documentary 'The New Face of Cybercrime' in
New York on January 24
SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- 2008-Fortify(R) Software, the
market leader in enterprise application security solutions, announced today
that will hold a private advanced screening of the
ground-breaking documentary, "The New Face of Cybercrime," in New York City on
Thursday, January 24. After the premier, a panel of security experts will
discuss cybercrime and Fortify Software will host a reception.
"Cybercrime is one of the greatest dangers facing organizations today,"
said John M. Jack, president and CEO of Fortify Software. "Sophisticated
criminals exploit the weaknesses in corporate computing security to steal
social security, credit card, and other sensitive and private information that
is worth millions of dollars. Customers may suffer harm, and organizations
suffer the economic cost of dealing with such thefts as well as the loss of
customer confidence. We sponsored this documentary not only to increase
awareness about cybercrime but also to highlight the latest thinking about how
to deal with it."
Created by Academy Award(R)-nominated filmmaker Frederic Golding,
"The New Face of Cybercrime" highlights over twenty interviews with everyone
from hackers to security gurus and top business executives, such as Matthew
Devost, CEO, the Terrorism Research Center, and Mike Ullman, Chairman and CEO,
JC Penney Company, Inc. By examining cybercrime from a variety of
perspectives, the film provides a comprehensive overview of the problem and of
the latest directions in network security.
Following the screening, a panel of security experts will lead a
discussion on how organizations can protect their information from the
activities of cyber criminals.
