Rhino Linings(R) Achieves Florida State Certification for Secondary
Containment, Utilizing NACE 6G197/SSPC-TU2 Testing Requirements
Florida State Department of Environmental Protection Requires NACE
6G197/SSPC-TU2 Testing for Design, Installation, and Maintenance of Coatings
Systems for Concrete Used in Secondary Containment
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Rhino Industrial(TM), a strategic
business unit of Rhino Linings Corporation, is proud to announce receipt of
certification from the state of Florida Department of Environmental Protection
for its Rhino Extreme(TM) 90 and Hi-Chem(TM) 65D-PW products which were tested
using NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) and SSPC (The Society
for Protective Coatings) requirements for the Design, Installation, and
Maintenance of Coating Systems for Concrete Used in Secondary Containment.
The combined NACE 6G197 and SSPC-TU2 certification informs manufacturers,
specifiers, applicators, and facility owners who are required to contain
chemicals and/or protect concrete that Rhino Linings(R) certified products
meet all certification requirements. When using Rhino Linings state-of-the-art
products and established guidelines for installation, and maintenance of
polymeric coating systems, these systems boast a long life and serviceability
for secondary containment applications. Concrete is used in secondary
containment structures because it is a cost-effective material when properly
designed and installed. More state and local municipalities require NACE
6G197/SSPC-TU2 certified products for protection of their secondary
containment applications, especially in environmentally sensitive areas.
"This certification is yet another illustration of why contractors and
specifiers are choosing Rhino Industrial products as their concrete protective
coatings solution for Secondary Containment," said Bharat Naik, Vice President
of Industrial Business and Product Development for Rhino Linings Corporation.
"Our products are environmentally friendly and provide a seamless, monolithic
lining on concrete and other containment surfaces."
NACE is recognized around the world as the premier authority for corrosion
control solutions. SSPC is the only non-profit association that is focused on
the protection and preservation of concrete, steel and other industrial and
marine structures and surfaces through the use of high-performance industrial
coatings. SSPC is the leading source of information on surface preparation,
coating selection, coating application, environmental regulations, and health
and safety issues that affect the protective coatings industry.
Rhino Extreme 90
Rhino Extreme 90 is specifically designed for extreme outdoor conditions
and colder substrate applications. It contains 100% polyurea chemistry,
applied through plural component, high-pressure application equipment. It is a
fast-set lining with superior hardness and elongation, high tensile strength,
and excellent tear and abrasion resistance. Typical applications using Rhino
Extreme 90 include: primary and secondary containment, industrial plants,
agricultural, and petrochemical applications, and outdoor environments where
water and low temperature conditions exist such as pond liners, sump pumps,
lift stations, clarifiers, digesters and wet wells.
Hi-Chem 65D-PW (Potable Water)
Hi-Chem 65D-PW is a potable water-certified version of Rhino's proven
Hi-Chem lining. It provides excellent stability for immersion applications,
and where high levels of chemical resistance are required to deliver superior
corrosion protection. Hi-Chem 65D-PW is NSF 61 approved, and can be applied
with either high or low pressure equipment. Hi-Chem 65D PW is specifically
designed for use in potable water tanks and pipes, water softener tanks,
reservoirs and water filtration systems. It is also approved and listed under
NSF 50 for pool and spa applications. Typical applications using Rhino
Hi-Chem(TM) 65D-PW include: potable water tanks, pipes, water softeners,
