Centillium's Entropia III-C VoIP System-on-Chip Earns Product of the Year
Award from Internet Telephony Magazine
FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Centillium
Communications (Nasdaq: CTLM) today announced Entropia(TM) III-C, the newest
member of its suite of system-on-chip (SoC) Voice over Internet Protocol
(VoIP) solutions, received one of Internet Telephony Magazine's 2007 Product
of the Year Awards. Internet Telephony Magazine, published by Technology
Marketing Corporation (TMC), focuses on the rapidly growing VoIP/IP telephony
industry.
"From access devices to IMS fixed-mobile convergence gateways to
enterprise VoIP, our innovative Entropia product family consistently delivers
superior performance, power consumption and service quality for new network
access applications as well as legacy telco facilities," said Didier Boivin,
vice president of marketing, Centillium Communications. "Centillium developed
Entropia III-C as a smaller-sized, highly integrated version of our flagship
VoIP SoC with cost structures and channel densities that squarely target the
requirements of business communications and subscriber loop infrastructures.
We're honored that Entropia III-C will join the ranks of Internet Telephony's
prestigious products of the year for 2007."
With a single-chip design and low per-channel cost, Entropia III-C
provides a powerful and cost-efficient platform for deployment within
fast-growing multi-service access network (MSAN) and Digital Loop Carrier
(DLC) environments. Carrier-proven algorithms serve to maximize voice quality,
while the highly integrated design reduces power consumption, making Entropia
III-C an ideal alternative for service providers seeking an efficient path to
new VoIP service areas or to upgrade the capabilities of existing local loop
infrastructure.
"Centillium Communications has proven they are committed to quality and
excellence while addressing real needs in the VoIP marketplace. Internet
Telephony is pleased to grant a 2007 Product of the Year Award to the Entropia
III-C VoIP SoC," said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and editor-in-chief of
Internet Telephony magazine. "We're proud to honor their hard work and
accomplishments and look forward to more innovative solutions from Centillium
in the future."
The recipients of the 10th annual Product of the Year Awards were selected
by the editors of Internet Telephony magazine. They chose the most innovative
products from companies that demonstrate the vision, leadership and attention
to detail that are the hallmarks of the esteemed award. A full list of Product
