CCID Consulting: TD-SCDMA the Focus of China's 3G Market in 2007

The achievements of China's TD industry in 2007:
First, the policy support system and input system have been improved.
Starting from the state interests, national strategies and the development
strategy of China's electronic information industry, the Chinese Government
has given priority to the development of TD-SCDMA and offers all-around
support.
Second, the industrial chain is becoming mature. So far, TD-SCDMA has
formed a relatively complete industrial chain including an access network,
core network, terminals, terminal chips and test instruments, support
equipment and testing environment, and different links are supporting each
other and developing together.
Third, the operational subject is becoming clearer. In 2007, the second
round of large-scale construction of TD-tested networks started and China
Mobile undertook the construction in 8 cities. In addition, from the end of
June to July, China Mobile completed the first round of TD terminal tests and
is expected to make the first round of TD terminal collections in early 2008.
With China Mobile guiding the TD construction, the operational risks would be
reduced to a large extent and success is all but guaranteed. The determination
of the operational subject makes the TD market prospects clearer and drives
the development of each enterprise in the industrial chain.
