Original Poll That Tracks Public Opinion of Highly Anticipated
Super Bowl Ads is Ready for Eighth Year
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(Business Wire)--McKee Wallwork Cleveland, an award-winning, full-service
advertising agency, today announced the eighth annual launch of the
ADBOWL website -- http://www.ADBOWL.com -- in partnership with Rassai
Interactive.
ADBOWL, first launched by the agency in 2001, is the original
online, real-time system for tracking consumer opinions of Super Bowl
ads. Individuals vote online, letting advertisers know if they
produced a "touchdown" or a "fumble", and the results are announced
just after midnight, the night of the game. ADBOWL vote totals are
collected but not shared real-time on the site so that voters aren't
influenced by the opinions of others.
On Super Bowl Sunday (February 3, 2008), viewers can visit
http://www.ADBOWL.com and rate commercials on a scale between one and
five after they air. Participants have the option of rating the ads
online as they air or printing a ballot and rating all of the ads at
once at the end of the game. A complete listing of the results,
including a breakdown of winners as selected by gender and age group,
will be posted on the site at 12:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on
February 4th. Registration is now open on the ADBOWL website.
"We anticipate that this could be a particularly good year for
Super Bowl ads, in terms of viewership," said Steve McKee, president
of McKee Wallwork Cleveland. "With the match-up between the undefeated
Patriots and the underdog Giants, coupled with a lack of competing
programming due to the ongoing writers' strike, more people may tune
in to this annual television event and log on to ADBOWL to voice their
opinions on the ads."
ADBOWL provides a venue for consumers to express which ads they
love and which they hate on one of advertising's biggest nights of the
year. The following is a list of voters' favorite ads from the past
five years:
2007 -- Bud Light's "Rock, Paper, Scissors"
2006 -- Bud Light's "Hidden Fridge"
2005 -- Anheuser-Busch's "Applause"
2004 -- Budweiser's "Donkey Dream"
2003 -- FedEx's "Castaway"
In four of the last five ADBOWLs, Anheuser-Busch has claimed the
top spot. Can any other marketer unseat them?
This year's ADBOWL website infrastructure was built and will be
hosted by Rassai Interactive, a video-centric interactive agency.
