Borders Group Names Gary E. Baker Vice President, IT Delivery Services

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Borders Group, Inc.
(NYSE: BGP) has named Gary E. Baker Vice President, IT Delivery Services,
effective today.

    In his new position, Baker is responsible for the development and
execution of IT strategic processes related to the delivery of technology as
well as leading teams to ensure that business goals are met through delivery
of necessary IT products and services, among other duties.  The position
reports to Borders Group Chief Information Officer Susan Harwood.
    Prior to joining Borders Group, Baker served as Director, IT
Transformation Services, at AlixPartners LLP in Southfield, Mich., where he
specialized in global operations and IT governance, business process
alignment, organizational change management, vendor management, strategic
planning, application development and Internet-related technologies and Web
services.  Before AlixPartners, Baker was with EDS in Detroit for five years,
where he was Managing Director and Process Executive-General Motors Global
Purchasing and Supply Chain and Global Business Services. He also was a
Partner in the Advanced Technology Group for Arthur Andersen LLP in Detroit
for three years. Prior to that, he founded and was the Chief Executive Officer
and Chairman of Online Technologies Corporation in Ann Arbor, an organization
he started while he was serving as Chief Executive Officer of Baker Investment
Group in Ann Arbor, a firm he started and led from 1980 through 1997.  Baker
is a co-host of the "Internet Advisor" radio program, which airs on WJR 760AM
Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
