Special Meeting of the MCNC Endowment Board of Directors

MCNC announces that on January 25, 2008, the MCNC Endowment Board of
Directors is scheduled to hold a special meeting via conference call beginning
at 1:30 p.m. for the purpose of updating the Board on MCNC's proposed network
expansion and for approval of the funding of such expansion.
