iBIO Announces Expansion of Board of Directors, Re-election of Norbert Riedel as Chairman

                 New Members Provide Diverse Expertise
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--The Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization (iBIO) today
announced the election of two new members to iBIO's board of
directors, and the re-election of its chairman of the board. New to
iBIO's board of directors are Peter Boynton of Tate & Lyle and Terry
Noetzel of Deloitte Consulting. iBIO's board also re-elected eight
members, including Norbert Riedel, Ph.D., of Baxter International
Inc., who will continue to serve as chairman of the iBIO board.

skill sets, representing the service, agricultural and industrial
sectors, will help us continue to grow the biotechnology community in

   Peter (Pete) Boynton is Senior Vice President, Industrial
Ingredients at Tate & Lyle. He brings more than 26 years experience in
the corn wet milling industry. His current responsibilities include
directing the Industrial Ingredients business and leading a
biomaterials business development initiative. Pete's initial
responsibilities with Tate & Lyle included managing their global
citric acid operations. Before joining Tate & Lyle in October 1998, he
had held various management positions with Cargill, Inc., lastly as a
Vice President in the North American Corn Milling group.

   Terry Noetzel is global lead client service partner and principal
with Deloitte Consulting LLP. Terry leads Deloitte's Midwest Life
Sciences practice, encompassing Consulting, Tax, Enterprise Risk
Services and Financial Advisory Services. He has more than 25 years
experience in the life sciences and health care industry, with a
particular focus on the health care supply chain. He has led
Deloitte's Chicago-based life sciences & health care management
consulting practice, its health care supply chain practice, and served
as co-leader of Deloitte's global business-to-business practice. Terry
has been with Deloitte since 1985. He previously served in operations
management and strategy roles for the Henry Ford Health System.

   Dr. Norbert Riedel is Corporate Vice President and Chief
Scientific Officer at Baxter International Inc. Dr. Riedel has served
on iBIO's Board of Directors since March 2001, and he was named
Chairman of the Board in July 2006. Dr. Riedel has served as Baxter's
Chief Scientific Officer since March 2001. He joined Baxter in 1998 as
President of the recombinant unit within Baxter's BioScience business.
Prior to joining Baxter, Dr. Riedel was head of worldwide
biotechnology and worldwide core research functions at Hoechst Marion
Roussel, now Sanofi-Aventis. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of
Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, and
is a member of the Advisory Board of Northwestern University's Kellogg
School of Management Center for Biotechnology.
