Hollywood Entertainment Corporation Renews Contract with Kronos(R) for Selection and Hiring
Retailer uses Kronos solution to ensure continued delivery of
unique brand of customer service at more than 1,600 locations
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(Business Wire)--Since November 1999, Hollywood Entertainment Corporation has
leveraged a selection and hiring solution from Kronos(R) Incorporated
across more than 1,600 of its stores, resulting in a substantial
percentage reduction in employee turnover. Based on these improvements
in hiring the most productive and dependable associates, Hollywood
Entertainment Corporation has extended its contract for the selection
and hiring solution.
"We are committed to continuously improving our workplace by
recruiting, promoting, and retaining top talent," stated Hollywood
Entertainment Corporation. "Despite the high turnover in our industry,
we have been able to recruit and retain employees that have a strong
service orientation and can deliver customer service with genuine
warmth and friendliness. We attribute a significant part of that to
the automated selection and hiring technology from Kronos. We are
consistently able to 'screen-in' dedicated, reliable employees to
deliver the 'Star Treatment' that our customers have come to expect."
Most likely to succeed
Hollywood Entertainment Corporation uses Kronos' behavioral
assessments embedded in its field hiring solution to identify
associates with the necessary attributes to succeed in frontline
positions. The Kronos selection and hiring solution is part of Kronos
for Retail. Kronos' sophisticated industry- and job-specific
assessments are developed by industrial and organizational
psychologists to screen-in candidates who are more likely to stay
beyond those critical first 60-90 days. The Kronos solution predicts
in an objective way if a candidate is likely to be successful in a
particular position, and then continually gathers data to improve the
quality of the selection tools over time.
"Hollywood Entertainment Corporation recognized that stabilizing
its workforce by controlling turnover was the foundation on which to
then build a consistent and high quality customer service environment.
You cannot achieve this with a highly volatile workforce," said Steve
Earl, director of marketing, Kronos Talent Management Division. "As
Hollywood Entertainment Corporation's results have proven,
consistently hiring people who learn faster, stay longer, and perform
better ultimately leads to reduced costs and improved workforce
productivity."
