VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Jan 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
Andover Ventures Inc. ("Andover" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: AOX) is
pleased to announce the appointments of Mr. Bruce F. Riederer as
President and Mr. John C. Thornton as Chief Development Officer. Mr.
Riederer and Mr. Thornton bring Andover a combined 80 years of experience
in exploration, mine development and project management. They will manage
an aggressive work program designed to rapidly add shareholder value to
Andover's 100% wholly owned flagship property, the SUN, a Polymetalic
deposit, located in the Ambler Mining District in the Brooks Range in
Northwestern Alaska.

    2008 Operational Objectives:

    - Complete a scoping study (3-D modeling of the SUN deposit) and updated
43-101 compliant mineral resource estimation.

    - Initiation of a 25,000 meter drilling program (5 times the size of the
2007 drill program) to expand the main SUN deposit and test additional
targets.

    - A regional scale geophysical survey over Andover's 12,800 acres in the
Ambler to identify additional drilling targets.

    - Commencement of a Pre-feasibility Study at the end of the 2008 drilling
season.

Mr. Riederer has 35 years of exploration, development and mining
experience throughout the Western United States and Australia. He has
project managed a myriad of Federal and State permitting requirements,
fast tracked numerous pre-feasibility/feasibility studies and EPCM for
base and precious metal projects.

Mr. Thornton has 45 years of experience in the mining industry beginning
with the Anaconda Copper Co. in the Butte underground mines. Following
completion of a graduate degree from NYU he spent six years with Anaconda
followed by 13 years with Amax Inc. in mine planning and construction
management. In the 1980's he moved to South Africa to become
owner/operator of a gold mine.

In 1991 he joined Mintec Inc., where he was responsible for resource and
reserve estimations and mine planning in many feasibility studies and
project financings. For the past two and a half years, as COO of Gammon
Lake Resources, he managed the on-budget construction of the Ocampo gold
silver mines complex in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Robert Gardner, Chairman of Andover Ventures, states, "The resources
found in the Ambler District in Alaska, and those within the lands
controlled by Andover Ventures are surely one of the larger undeveloped
deposits on the planet. The additions to the Andover team of seasoned
professionals led by Mr. Riederer and Mr. Thornton, whose direct
responsibility and accountability are to advance, manage, and ensure the
next stages of delineating the SUN deposit and advancing the project
toward feasibility. This will be the catalyst to unlock the vast
potential of the SUN."

    ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD

Robert Gardner, Chairman of the Board
