BALTIMORE, MD, Jan 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
Petards, Inc., a leading developer of advanced surveillance systems, today
announced that Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Hotel in Cherokee, N.C., has once
again chosen Petards for video surveillance, and taken delivery of equipment to
upgrade and expand its Universal Video Management System (UVMS) capabilities.

Harrah's Cherokee, a Petards customer since 2001, is expanding its UVMS
video
surveillance network to provide the casino's surveillance team with better
video resolution, giving them improved visibility of activities throughout the
facility. The Petards system will upgrade the casino's existing UVMS software
and
increase storage and review capability with additional servers to support
enhanced surveillance throughout the existing casino, as well as for an addition
currently under construction.

"For many years, Petards has been a valued business partner of Harrah's
Cherokee
because the company offers solutions that meet the high-performance needs of
the gaming environment," said Juan Owle, director of surveillance for Harrah's
Cherokee. "UVMS is a powerful surveillance tool, and by upgrading our system we
will
be able to benefit even more from its advanced functionalities. We appreciate
their ability to work closely with us to deploy a surveillance solution that
minimally impacts operations and offers a great return on investment."

UVMS is an industry leading, technology agnostic video management
platform, which enables the use of both analog and Internet protocol (IP) cameras
on
the same system. UVMS supports advanced recording and image replay functions,
and offers a graphical user interface that enables users to easily navigate
the system.

"Petards has a strong legacy of providing enterprise-quality surveillance
solutions
that meet the stringent requirements of gaming commissions," said Frank
Baitman, president of Petards, Inc. "We are honored to extend our
relationship with Harrah's Cherokee in order to deliver our enhanced
surveillance
capabilities that will enable them to improve visibility throughout their
facility."
