COMPANY ANNOUNCEMENT
Immediate Release 22nd January 2008
Opal Funds (Ireland) plc ("the Company")
Opal Optimum Strategy Fund
Opal Alternative Growth Fund
(the "Sub-Funds")
Re: Changes to the Company
The Directors of the Company have resolved the following changes to the above
named Sub-Funds.
Following a detailed review of the above named Sub-Funds and their share
classes, the Directors have concluded that there has been insufficient interest
in Class D, the US Dollar Share Class, and that the funds under management in
these classes have been in decline over a significant period of time. As a
result, in accordance with the Articles of Association of the Company,
compulsory redemption for all Class D shares in each Sub-Fund will take effect
on 1st March 2008.
The Directors are offering Class D investors the option to exchange their shares
for Class B shares in each applicable Sub-Fund on 1st March 2008 at the net
asset value prevailing on 29th February 2008. Investors will not be charged any
fees in connection with the processing of this redemption and subscription by
the Company. If investors do not wish to exchange their class D shares for
Class B shares, the Class D shares will be compulsorily redeemed effective 1st
March 2008.
The Directors have taken the view that keeping Class D of each Sub-Fund open
would cause a material administrative disadvantage to the Company.
