Knowledge Learning Corporation Selects AT&T for Managed Network Services

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has
announced that Knowledge Learning Corporation (KLC) has signed a three-year
multimillion-dollar contract with AT&T.  Under the terms of the agreement,
AT&T will provide Knowledge Learning Corporation with fully-managed
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN)
services for over 420 of its KinderCare Learning Centers and CCLC
employer-sponsored centers throughout the United States.  This is part of the
first phase of KLC's network expansion and upgrade project.
    Knowledge Learning Corporation (KLC) is the nation's leading private
provider of early childhood and school-age education and care, serving
children throughout the United States.
    AT&T's VPN service will also make up the core of the international network
solution for KLC's affiliates, including sites in India and Singapore, and
will allow for efficient deployment of voice and data connectivity to those
international locations, as well as 420 domestic locations under the first
phase of the project. Additionally, AT&T will be providing field engineering
services, Network Deployment Services and international equipment procurement
and installation.  AT&T will also provide several hundred wireless units for
increased connectivity and tracking of KLC transportation vehicles.
    KLC also is currently deploying several new centrally managed applications
including software and program development tools for their early childhood
learning initiatives. The new AT&T network services will provide better
performance and easier deployment of those applications.
    KLC invited proposals from several leading network providers and completed
a rigorous evaluation process. "AT&T presented us with a fully managed
solution offering us easier management and predictable and uniform speeds and

    The agreement renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the
two companies that spans more than ten years.
