                               Re: Results of EGM



The directors of HSBC Securities Services (Ireland) Limited, in its capacity as
manager of the Trust, wish to announce that, at an extraordinary general meeting
of the Fund, which is a sub fund of the Trust, the unitholders of the Fund voted
unanimously in favour of the scheme of amalgamation to be made between the Fund
and a new Cayman successor fund, namely HSBC Distressed Opportunities Fund
Limited, which scheme of amalgamation is due to become effective at midnight on
31 January 2008.
