Suzanne van Staveren Joins AXA Equitable as Chief Operating Officer of Its
Corporate Markets Business

    NEW YORK, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AXA Equitable Life Insurance
Co. announced today that it has hired Suzanne van Staveren as a Vice President
and Chief Operating Officer of Corporate Markets, the company's newly created
distribution channel, which provides retirement plan strategies and solutions
to Fortune 1000 companies and their employees.  The announcement was made by
Bill McDermott, Executive Vice President of AXA Equitable and Head of
Corporate Markets.
    Ms. van Staveren is responsible for the overall business operations,
financial and organizational management, and administration for the Corporate
Markets business.  She also is charged with managing the implementation of
Corporate Markets' strategic business plan and annual operating plan.
    "Suzanne has a proven track record in creating, developing, and sustaining
operational controls and administrative and reporting procedures in the
corporate and retirement services marketplace," said Mr. McDermott. "These are
critical components to executing our business strategy and growing the
Corporate Markets business with a high degree of operating efficiency and
effectiveness."
    Ms. van Staveren spent the past 13 years with Fidelity Investments in the
areas of operations, finance, business analysis and client services.  Most
recently, she was Vice President, Scale and Profitability for Large Corporate
Market Retirement Services at Fidelity Employer Services Co. in Marlborough,
MA.  In that role, she led a team to analyze the retirement readiness of
Fidelity's largest corporate clients.
    Ms. van Staveren earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from
Northeastern Graduate School of Business in Boston, MA, and a Bachelor of
Science degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.
