Computer Measurement Group Recognizes Several Industry Leaders for their
Contributions in the Field of Computer Performance and Capacity Management

Industry's Best of Best Recognized Recently at CMG'07 

TURNERSVILLE, N.J., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Computer
Measurement Group (CMG), the Information Technology professionals responsible
for planning, analyzing and managing the world's largest IT infrastructures,
announced today that at the recent CMG'07, a number of industry leaders were
recognized for their contributions to the field of computer performance and
capacity management.

CMG awarded "Best Papers" to the following individuals:

-- Yasuhiro Ajiro - NEC - For his paper titled, "Improving Packing Algorithms
for Server Consolidation"

-- James W. McGalliard - FEDSIM  - For his paper titled, "A Queue Simulation
Tool for a High Performance Scientific Computing Center"

The "Best Paper" is picked from a small set of papers that the conference
paper referees acknowledge as they read and evaluate the submissions for the
conference.

CMG awarded the A. A. Michelson Award to the following individual:

Adrian Cockroft - Netflix

Albert Abraham Michelson was known for his technical accomplishments in
measuring the speed of light and for his role as teacher and inspirer of
others. CMG presents this prestigious award to recognize and encourage the
same combination of technical excellence and professional contribution found
in only an exceptional few.

CMG awarded the CMG Graduate Fellowship to:

Vinod Dubey, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA for Quality of Service (QoS)
Brokering and Performance Management of Composite Services in SOA

The CMG Graduate Fellowship program is open to full time graduate students in
Computer Science and related fields. It is intended to encourage and support
research in the areas of measurement, modeling, management and analysis of

CMG awarded the Mullen Award to the following individuals:

Peg McMahon - Sprint / Nextel - For her paper titled, "Death to Dashboards:
Alarming, Performance Management Based on Variance, System Prioritization and
Other Thoughts on Data Visualization"

Dr. Michael Salsburg - Unisys - For his paper titled, "Beyond the Hypervisor
Hype."

The J. William Mullen award is given in memory of past CMG president Bill
Mullen. This award recognizes his contributions to CMG and the profession of
information technology. The award recipient is an individual who exhibits both
technical excellence and an engaging presentation style.
