Computing Technology Industry Association Acquires Software Marketing Perspectives Conference & Expo
Leading software industry conference adds to robust lineup of
CompTIA events
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill.--(Business Wire)--The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the
leading trade association for the world's technology industry,
announced today it has acquired the Software Marketing Perspectives
Conference & Expo, the leading event for software company product and
marketing managers.
CompTIA acquired the event from King Content Co. of Newton, Mass.
The fourth annual Software Marketing Perspectives Conference &
Expo is scheduled for May 7-9, 2008 at the Santa Clara (Calif.)
Convention Center.
"The SMP event has grown into one of the most successful and
popular conferences for software product managers," said Chuck Wilson,
vice president, conferences and event management, CompTIA. "The
conference is known for its 'spin-free zone' where vice presidents,
directors, managers, and other senior executive from leading software
companies come together to share insights and experiences. This strong
networking component meshes well with the current line-up of CompTIA
conferences and events, which are recognized throughout the IT
industry for their educational content and networking opportunities."
"This move will enable the SMP conference to build on past
successes and take advantage of growth opportunities made possible by
the global reach of CompTIA," said John P. Desmond, president, King
Content.
The addition of the SMP conference expands CompTIA initiatives
targeted at the software industry. CompTIA also offers SoftwareCEO
(http://www.softwareceo.com/), a resource-packed electronic newsletter
and web portal built by software executives for software executives.
It is "Page One" for software industry information and education on
