THE GAME GROUP PLC

The Game Group Employees' Share Ownership Plan Trust ("The Trust")

The Company announces today that, on 17 January 2008, the trustees of The Trust
acquired 1,745,677 Ordinary Shares of 5p at a price of £1.935 representing 0.51%
of the current issued share capital and on 18 January 2008, the trustees
acquired a further 146,783 Ordinary Shares at a price of £1.9671 representing
0.04% of the current issued share capital.  The shares acquired will contribute
towards satisfying any future allocations that may be made under The Game Group
plc Performance Share Plan and the Game Group plc Deferred Bonus Scheme. This
transaction was notified to the Company on 21 January 2008. The total holding of
The Trust following this transaction is 2,844,094 ordinary shares being 0.83% of
the issued share capital.
