Hudson High School Hosts 6th Annual Jazz Fest Featuring The Horn Heads

HUDSON, OH, Jan 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
On Saturday, February 23, 2008 the sounds of Jazz will fill the Hudson High
School Auditorium as Jazz Bands from Cuyahoga Falls, Solon, Stow, Wadsworth,
Jackson, and the three Jazz Bands from Hudson High and the Hudson Middle School
perform.
The public is invited to see these jazz ensembles perform, free of charge,
starting at 12 PM and running consecutively through until 4 PM in the Hudson
High School Auditorium. The High School is located at 2500 Hudson-Aurora Road,
about 1/4 mile west of Stow Road. Each student will also experience
instrumental sectional workshops and improvisational clinics.
The Jazz Fest will conclude with a performance by The Horn Heads at 7:30 PM.
This group of extraordinarily talented horn players has been gathering
international acclaim since 1991. All of the Horn Heads are top session players
and have performed with such artists as Prince, Janet Jackson, Rod Stewart,
James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, and Doc
Severinson.
As members of Prince, The Horn Heads recorded more than 20 CDs and performed
for over 2 million concertgoers in 20 countries. Q Magazine in London,
England described them as a "peerless, horn section... playing in bare
brilliant syncopation, punching with a staccato precision."
As a solo ensemble, this cappella jazz group brings their distinctive flair,
combining virtuosi improvisation with sizzling ensemble work to create a

Concert tickets for The Horn Heads are $15 and may be purchased the night of
the concert from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Tickets may be purchased at The Learned Owl
