                        Auction: 1 7/8% Index-linked Treasury Gilt 2022Changes In FTSE Indices

Following the announcement regarding the auction by the UK Debt Management Office, FTSE announces the following changes
to the FTSE Actuaries Gilts Indices:

1 7/8% Index-linked Treasury Gilt 2022 (Sedol B1Z5HQ1 & ISIN GB00B1Z5HQ14) will increase from £3,381mn to £4,481mn
after the close of business on 29 January 2008 (i.e. with effect from start of trading on 30 January 2008, using
closing prices as at 29 January 2008).
