BlogHer Launches Web Site to Support BlogHers Act With an Exclusive Audio Interview With Valerie Plame Wilson

   Online Community Initiative Focuses on Maternal Health Worldwide;
Features Information Resources, Calls to Action and Exclusive Content
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--BlogHer, Inc. (www.blogher.com), one of the top women's online
networks and the Web's number-one guide to blogs by women, today
announced the launch of the BlogHers Act Web site
(www.blogher.com/special-events/bloghers-act). BlogHers Act, first
enacted in July 2007 following the BlogHer Conference, is a global
activism initiative focusing on diverse aspects of maternal health.
The site will feature its first in-depth and exclusive interview with
former CIA Operative and postpartum depression sufferer Valerie Plame
Wilson as part of BlogHer's effort to shine a spotlight on postpartum
depression (PPD) as an aspect of their maternal health initiative.

"It was an honor to be a part of the BlogHers Act maternal health
initiative and support a cause that deserves more recognition from not
only our government, but also the overall female community," said
Valerie Plame Wilson. "BlogHer is an amazing community of dedicated
and inspirational women that are using their power online to not only
support their fellow community members, but to endorse change
world-wide."

The BlogHers Act Web site serves as a resource for information on
maternal issues ranging from fertility to geriatrics. BlogHers Act has
received an overwhelming response from the BlogHer community over the
last six months and has become one of the top performing parts of the
site. BlogHer recently hired two new contributing editors to increase
frequency of coverage in order to match community interest.
Additionally, Canadian members of BlogHer formed BlogHers Act Canada
to focus on the environment's impact on health, increasing the
international scope of the program.

"The BlogHer community chose global maternal health as the focus
of BlogHers Act because it's an issue that affects a tremendous number
of women from all racial, economic and religious backgrounds," said
Lisa Stone, BlogHer co-founder and chief executive officer. "We are
extremely excited to be receiving the support and participation of
such incredible activists for women's health as Valerie Plame Wilson
and Susan Stone, as we and our members pledge to take action to save
women's lives."

BlogHers Act's inaugural initiative was a Blog Day on October 24
in conjunction with Postpartum Support International (PSI), the
world's largest non-profit organization devoted to the support of
perinatal mental health, and PostPartum Progress blogger Katharine
Stone, the Web's leading blogger on postpartum mood disorders, to
raise awareness in support of the passage of The Melanie Blocker
Stokes MOTHERS Act - The Moms Opportunity to Access Help, Education,
Research and Support for Postpartum Depression Act - a bill that was
set to hit the Senate floor in March, but has since been pushed
earlier due to the national support it has received as of late.

"Postpartum Support International salutes BlogHer for using their
power, passion and reach to focus on women's health issues," said
Susan Stone, president of PSI. "Our recent collaboration with BlogHer
and Katherine Stone resulted in one of the most successful online
awareness campaigns ever conducted for perinatal mental health. It
resulted in unprecedented number of participants who picked up the
phone and called their legislators to make a difference and bring
attention to this public health crisis. We hope to work with BlogHer
again soon as the legislation makes its final push through the
senate."
