                           Transaction in Own Shares


Sports Direct International Plc ("Sports Direct") today, through Kaupthing
Singer & Friedlander Capital Markets Ltd, purchased 1,482,500 of its ordinary
shares at an average price of 96.59 pence per ordinary share.  The ordinary
shares purchased yesterday will be held for cancellation.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, following the above purchase and
cancellation, (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 586,017,593.
