DETROIT, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- As a communications professional, your
work is undoubtedly lean, mean and fine-tuned. There is no better way to get

success!  The International Association of Business Communicators Detroit
Chapter (IABC/Detroit) is now accepting entries for the 2008 Renaissance
Awards competition presented by General Motors.
    Early bird entries are due by 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2008, and the
final deadline is Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
    The annual Renaissance Awards program recognizes excellence in
communication within all functional areas, including strategic communication
management, corporate communications, public and media relations, marketing,
writing, design, advertising and multimedia. This year, the award categories
are grouped into three divisions with nearly 51 individual categories ranging
from communications management programs, to writing to design in electronic
and printed form.
    The competition is open to all professional communicators, agency
executives, freelance practitioners, graphic designers, and writers in
southeast Michigan, northwest Ohio and southwest Ontario. You need not be an

    Communicator of the Year
    Nominations are also being accepted for IABC/Detroit's most prestigious
award -- Communicator of the Year. If you know of an individual who is a
standout in the field of communications, has made outstanding contributions to
the profession, to IABC, on the job or in the community, we urge you to
nominate that person for Communicator of the Year.  Information on the

    Winners will be announced during the awards banquet at the VisTaTech
Center in Livonia on Thursday, June 19, 2008.
    The 2008 IABC/Detroit Renaissance Award competition is presented by
General Motors in association with Watson Wyatt. IABC/Detroit chapter sponsors
