Still Time to Enter the First National Entertainment Journalism Awards

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Less than a week remains for
entries in the first National Entertainment Journalism Awards contest,
including the search for the critic of the year, the Los Angeles Press Club
announces.
Postmark deadline for entries is Friday, Jan. 25. Rules and entry forms
are at http://www.lapressclub.org.
For 50 years, the press club has produced one of the nation's most
successful regional journalism competitions. The thriving non-profit club
fosters programs aimed at raising the caliber of journalism and helping
students learn the profession. The club is based in Hollywood, the nation's
entertainment hub.
"Through our new NEJ awards, we hope to reach hundreds of entertainment
journalists around the country who may not have had a worthy forum to make
peers aware of their top-quality work," said Press Club President Chris
Woodyard of USA Today.
Awards will be given for Best Entertainment News Story, Best Feature Story
and Critic of the Year in each genre. Fees are $35 per entry. The winners will
be announced February 21st at the Press Club's headquarters in Hollywood,
three days before the Academy Awards gala party.
The finalist judges include Variety Managing Editor Ted Johnson,
HollywoodToday.net columnist Alex Ben Block and USA TODAY film critic Claudia
Puig.
