Potential Students And Their Parents Will Tour the State-Of-The

Students in World Class Performance Venue
LOS ANGELES--(Business Wire)--Musicians Institute, "The World's Most Innovative School of
Contemporary Music and Recording," will hold an Open House on
Saturday, January 26th, for potential students and their parents at
the state-of-the art facility in the heart of Hollywood, California.
Attendees will meet faculty, tour the campus and enjoy musical
entertainment by current MI students in the world class performance
venue.
More than 30 years ago the Guitar Institute of Technology opened
its doors in a rented studio space off Sunset Boulevard. GIT was the
brainchild of music businessman Pat Hicks and influential
guitarist-educator Howard Roberts, who teamed up to expand Howard's
highly successful weekend guitar seminars into a full-time, one-year
program. GIT's revolutionary curriculum was designed to provide
students with the technical training, musical knowledge and practical
experience needed for professional-level performance. Traditional
classrooms were replaced by intensive hands-on workshops under the
close supervision of some of the world's best guitarists. The idea
quickly took off, and in short order GIT was joined by Bass (BIT) and
Percussion (PIT) to form Musicians Institute (MI).
Today, MI offers Bachelor of Music and Associate of Arts degrees
as well as the original certificate programs in guitar, bass,
percussion, voice and keyboards, with additional degrees and
certificates in audio engineering, music production, music video and
film, music business and guitar-making. Facilities have grown along
with the student population - now more than 1100 students per quarter
- to include over 75,000 square feet of studios, performance venues,
classrooms and practice rooms across several blocks in central
Hollywood. Thousands of MI graduates are spread out all over the
globe, working in every part of the music industry.
