Enables Expansion and Interconnectivity Through the Telx Facility
in Dallas
NEW YORK & DALLAS--(Business Wire)--TierOne Networks, a Dallas based Wireless Internet Service
Provider (WISP), announced today that the Federal Communications
Commission Wireless Telecommunications Bureau has granted multiple
Licenses and Frequency Paths on several important links in TierOne's
broadband backbone. The 170 Mbps links to Ellis County in the
Dallas/Fort Worth market, are fully operational and enable Ellis
County residents and businesses to benefit from a backbone directly
interconnected to the Network Access Point (NAP) for the internet
which is accessible through the Telx colocation facilities located at
2323 Bryan Street in Dallas, TX. The Dallas NAP is the point at which
all 60 major carriers meet and transfer data between networks and
represents the most cost effective and reliable broadband source in
the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Telx has been a strong partner enabling TierOne to interconnect to
an array of network operators and enterprise businesses in the
Dallas/Fort Worth area. Telx's facility provides TierOne a managed
'meet-me' point allowing them to expand their network service
offerings to the growing list of companies located in the Meet Me Room
at Bryan Street. With the addition of the FCC Licenses, this makes
TierOne the only WISP in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with an FCC
licensed backbone connected to the Telx Meet Me Room and accessible to
companies connected to or require connectivity to the Dallas NAP.
Customers will now benefit by receiving a substantial improvement in
speed, low latency, and reliability in their services.
"This represents a major milestone in our progress toward building
a Carrier-Grade Network to provide world class services," said CEO
Kevin Weaver. "This upgrade gives us the ability to replace customers
old 'wire-lined carrier' with TierOne's wireless internet, VoIP, and
value added services."
"We are honored to be a network enabler for TierOne Networks,
allowing them to grow their business in a cost effective and efficient
manner," stated Bill Kolman, Executive Vice President of Sales for
Telx. "Our goal is to provide an array of layered solutions to various
companies while providing managed cross-connections and colocation
services to enterprise businesses and network operators alike."
