Teva says agreed to extend standstill on Protonix
NEW YORK |
NEW YORK Jan 22 (Reuters) - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TEVA.O) said on Tuesday that it agreed with rival drugmakers Wyeth WYE.N and Altana ALTG.DE to extend their standstill agreement over a generic version of Wyeth's ulcer drug Protonix.
Wyeth and Altana have been trying to stop Teva from launching generic versions of Protonix, which Teva said reaps annual sales of $2.5 billion.
Teva said it agreed not to ship additional products, and that extending the standstill period until Jan. 31 will help the parties continue their patent litigation settlement discussions. (Reporting by Ritsuko Ando; Editing by Quentin Bryar)
