WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush is not closing the door to changes in a proposed stimulus package, the White House said on Tuesday while reiterating that Bush envisions a plan that would be equivalent to around 1 percent of gross domestic product.

Bush will meet with congressional leaders at 2:40 p.m. EST where he is to brief them on his recent trip to the Middle East and where the topic of economic stimulus will also come up, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said.

"There's a lot of details that are going to have to be worked out with Capitol Hill, including the size of the overall package," Perino said, adding that Bush would not "close off any doors" on options.
