ORLANDO, FL, Jan 29 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA) has concluded its first life
settlement compliance conference, a "sold-out" success. At this pioneer
event, in Washington, DC, attendees learned from leading industry experts on the
core challenges of compliance with state laws and regulations, while upholding
the
highest standards of business conduct and ethics in the life settlement
industry.

"The marketplace changes almost daily due to the emergence of new laws,
regulations, interpretations and process in the states. In the first
monthof 2008, 15 bills pertaining to this industry have been introduced in
various states. LISA is committed to assisting its members to meet the
challenges by offering continuing resources to avoid compliance pitfalls," says
Doug
Head, Executive Director of LISA. The LISA Compliance Conference was designed
to
review all compliance issues faced by life settlement companies. With a timely,
new-year focus on filing requirements, record keeping and annual reviews, the
program brought together presenters with innovative approaches and insights to
meet these challenges, professionally and with a broad understanding of the
issues. Part
of the program also included a speech on the impact of self regulatory
organizations in the financial industry.

Attendees applauded LISA's initiative and expressed a hope to see similar
events
to come. "The topics covered the major elements of a comprehensive compliance
program,
in detail. I commend LISA on its choice and organization of topics and
professional presenters and look forward to attending one or two scheduled
LISA compliance conferences each year!" says Jennifer Stabile, Compliance
Director of Life Asset Group LLC, a Settlement Broker based in Miami, FL. "It is
difficult to be able to handle the many compliance and regulatory issues this
Industry faces on an ongoing basis. This conference was a great review of my
duties as a compliance director, as well as a source for new ideas from each of
the
topics presented to implement LAG's compliance program. I also was very
impressed with the sharing of information while networking with some of the
most experienced persons in the industry."

Among a series of industry focused events, LISA plans to convene members and
non
members on the West Coast for a second compliance conference later this year.
