Julius Baer gains on talk of Qatar stake interest

LONDON (Reuters) - Shares in Swiss banking group Julius Baer (BAER.VX) rose 3.5 percent on Tuesday on market talk that Qatar was interested in building a stake in the group, traders said.

At 3:44 a.m. ET, Baer stock was up 3.45 percent at 75 Swiss francs, the top gainer on the Swiss market index .SSMI, which was up 0.8 percent.

Julius Baer declined comment on the market talk.
