PARIS Feb 4 (Reuters) - The Group of Seven industrialised nations will discuss exchange rates and the world economy at a meeting on Saturday, an advisor to French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said

"There will be an interesting exchange of views on the exchange rate, which will be of particular interest concerning the euro," the advisor told reporters.

The eurozone is concerned by the rise of its currency versus the dollar in particular because many other Asian economies also steer their exchange rates up and down in line with the dollar.

Finance minsters and central bankers from the G7 meet in Tokyo on Feb. 9 where the main issue of discussion will be the downturn in the U.S. economy. (Reporting by Brian Love, editing by Crispian Balmer)
