New Onvia Service Fills Information Gap With Early Visibility Into Commercial
and Residential Development

SEATTLE, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Onvia (Nasdaq: ONVI), a leading
provider of comprehensive sales intelligence, today announced it has broadly
expanded its solutions for the construction industry by delivering
hard-to-find information on emerging commercial and residential projects
nationwide.
Unlike the government purchase opportunities Onvia has traditionally
offered, commercial and residential projects typically start out below the
radar.
"The new Onvia service eliminates the need to manually search public
records," said Mike Pickett, CEO. "Onvia now notifies architects, engineers,
contractors and suppliers about early-stage projects, including industrial
parks, condos, retail developments and assisted-living facilities, in time for
clients to build relationships with decision makers and potential partners."
One of the first companies to sign up for the new service was Long Span
Bridge & Culvert, which designs and builds bridge and culvert systems
nationwide. Long Span is a division of Lane Enterprises, both headquartered in
Camp Hill, Penn.
"Private-sector projects are hard to find, and we need to learn about them
as early as possible if we want to be part of the project team and get our
systems specified," said Kevin McKee, PE, head of operations at Long Span.
"The new Onvia service showed me projects I didn't know about and linked them
to data on developers and engineers I need to meet. To have all that
information available can change the way Long Span develops business."
"Clients have told us the new Onvia service plugs a major information gap
in the industry," said Pickett. "By enlarging the pool of known opportunities,
we can help clients sustain revenue growth in a slowing construction market."
