LONDON (Reuters) - Apple Inc (AAPL.O) is to open new retail stores in Germany, Switzerland and Ireland following its successful European launches in Britain and Italy, a spokesman said on Monday.

Apple will now open shops in Munich, Geneva, Zurich and Belfast but the spokesman would not say when that would be.

The main Apple store in London has proved popular with users looking to purchase devices such as its iPod and iPhone and for consumers looking for advice. Apple also has stores in the United States, Canada and Japan.
