Micron says to appeal in Rambus patent trial

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Microchip maker Micron Technology Inc MU.N on Wednesday said it would appeal a jury verdict that Rambus Inc (RMBS.O) did not violate antitrust laws or commit fraud in its attempt to protect memory chip patents.

The decision in a U.S. federal court sent Rambus shares soaring nearly 39 percent to $25.86, while Micron dropped 5 percent to $5.50.
