REFILE-KfW denies it plans to take stake in Airbus plants

FRANKFURT, March 31 (Reuters) - German state development bank KfW [KFW.UL] on Monday denied a newspaper report that it planned to take a stake in a new company that would bundle together three Airbus German manufacturing plants.
French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche reported on Sunday that Airbus parent EADS (EAD.PA), which has been trying unsuccessfully to sell the plants at Varel, Nordenham and Augsburg, aimed to group them into a new unit and sell a 40 percent stake to KfW and an Emirates-based investment fund.
"The story is not true," a KFW spokesman said.
Airbus last week said it had ended talks on the sale of the sites with a consortium of German aerospace group OHB (OHBG.DE) and its MT aerospace unit, blaming the strong euro for complicating the process.
