SiGe Semiconductor Reports 2007 Revenues of US $69 Million

Sales in 2007 increase more than 40 percent year-over-year driven by expanding
penetration across the computing, home entertainment and mobile markets
OTTAWA, ON and ANDOVER, MA, March 31 /PRNewswire/ - SiGe Semiconductor, a
leading global supplier of RF front-end solutions enabling wireless multimedia
for consumer electronics, today reported that revenues for 2007 were US $69
million, an increase of 40 percent year-over-year. Sales were fueled by the
growing demand for SiGe's radio front-end integrated circuits (ICs) and
modules, which enable the next generation of wireless computing, home
entertainment and mobile applications.

SiGe Semiconductor delivers innovative radio frequency (RF) solutions
enabling the wireless multimedia networks and applications consumers depend on

performance, range, and reliability when integrating 802.11b/g/a and n Wi-Fi
(R), Bluetooth(R), WiMAX(TM), and GPS capability into their computing, home

During 2007, SiGe Semiconductor expanded its award winning product lines
with new RF front-end solutions that allow manufacturers to effectively
support wireless multimedia services as well as the next generation of
convergence in consumer electronics. With marquee customers including HP,
Apple, Lenovo, Nintendo, and Samsung, the company maintained its position as a
leading supplier of power amplifiers and RF front-end modules to the Wi-Fi
market, and positioned itself to be the leading supplier of 802.11n front-end
solutions. The company also captured a significant share of the market
supplying GPS radios to personal navigation devices.
Highlights for the year included:
- The appointments of Sohail Khan as CEO, Peter Gammel as CTO and Vice
President of Engineering, and Fred Shlapak as Chairman of the Board.
- An expansion round of financing totalling US $20 million raised by both
existing and new investors including Samsung Ventures.
- Recognition by Deloitte and Touche as one of the fastest growing
technology companies in North America, ranked 47th in the Fast 500,
14th in the Wireless Fast 50, and 5th in the Fast 50 program for
New England.
- Shipment of more than 84 million components - an increase year-over-
year of more than 30 percent - bringing the total to more than
250 million solutions shipped;
- Increased presence in the Asia Pacific region including an expanded
sales, application and development team in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
- The addition of new channel partners for SiGe's Wi-Fi front-end
solutions, providing the company with access to every major laptop
manufacturer.
- New industry-first solutions:
- The world's most integrated RF front-end module for 802.11n
products, allowing consumer electronics to support wireless
multimedia services while enhancing cost, size and performance;
- A Wi-Fi power amplifier that reduces system cost, boosts power
efficiency and optimizes performance for the end user;
- Wi-Fi building blocks that simplify design and reduce system
bill of materials cost by 30 percent when adding Wi-Fi
capability to consumer devices; and
- The world's smallest GPS receivers, allowing navigation
capability in portable consumer electronics.
During the next 12 to 18 months, SiGe Semiconductor will extend its
portfolio with solutions designed to enable convergence and co-existence of
multiple technology standards including Wi-Fi, WiMAX, Bluetooth, GPS and
cellular. The company will deliver a series of WiMAX front-end modules that
solve the efficiency challenge, allowing manufacturers to effectively
integrate WiMAX capability into mobile devices without compromising battery
life, performance, size or cost.
