Agito Networks Named Finalist for CTIA WIRELESS 2008 Emerging Technologies
Award for Innovation Out of 300 Products
Agito Networks' RoamAnywhere Mobility Router Recognized for Excellence in the
Network Infrastructure In-Building/LAN Solution Awards Category

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Agito Networks, Inc.(TM), a
company pioneering new technology in enterprise mobility, today announced that
its RoamAnywhere(TM) Mobility Router was selected as a finalist in the Third
Annual CTIA Emerging Technologies (E-Tech) Awards program. The E-Tech Awards
program gives industry recognition and acknowledges the best wireless products
and services in the areas of Mobile CE (consumer electronics), Consumer Mobile
Applications, Enterprise Solutions, Network Infrastructure, Mobile Widgets,
and 4G.
A panel of industry analysts, media and technology experts reviewed nearly
300 products from established and emerging companies and judged product
entries based on innovation, creativity and vision. Winning products will be
on display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CTIA WIRELESS
2008(R).
The award-winning RoamAnywhere Mobility Router uniquely fuses 802.11
wireless LANs (WLANs), enterprise IP telephony, and the carrier cellular
network, improving mobile worker accessibility and responsiveness to increase
mobile worker productivity (http://www.agitonetworks.com/products/). Agito's
innovative, patent-pending location-aware technology allows enterprises to
mobilize voice by taking full advantage of their 802.11 WLAN deployments as a
low-cost alternative to cellular networks for in-building enterprise mobility.
Leveraging voice over WLAN (VoWLAN) enables enterprises to reduce cellular
expenses by as much as 60 percent, and avoid deploying costly,
carrier-specific equipment to address poor cellular coverage. To ensure a
seamless user experience, the RoamAnywhere Mobility Router provides the
industry's fastest, sub-second, automatic handover between the enterprise WLAN
networks and any carrier cellular network.
"Being recognized with another award for product innovation, this time at
the world's largest wireless show, is a significant honor for Agito Networks,"
said Pejman Roshan, Agito Networks vice president of marketing and a company
founder. "CTIA has traditionally been a carrier-focused event, and this award
is further validation that the carriers see value in offering a WiFi-based
solution to their customers. We've seen strong interest from carriers, and
they understand Agito's differentiation in our approach to mobile convergence,
and the value we bring to our joint customers."
Agito Networks will be honored at the E-Tech Awards Ceremony on the
Fashion in Motion stage in the Mobile Entertainment eXpo pavilion of the Las
Vegas Convention Center on April 2 at 3 pm. In addition, a demo of the
RoamAnywhere Mobility Router will be included in the E-Tech Awards Showcase
Display this week, located prominently in the Central Hall Lobby of the
convention center. E-Tech Awards finalists will be voted by show attendees for
the "Best in Show" honor for the 2008 Tech Awards.
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is unlike any enterprise mobility
solution seen to date. The patent-pending, RF-based location aware technology
ensures that in-building calls stay on the enterprise WLAN (using VoWLAN), to
reduce cellular expenses and provide low-cost in-building coverage to
eliminate dropped or poor quality calls. As part of an enterprise's mobile
Unified Communications strategy, RoamAnywhere increases accessibility and
productivity of today's workforce by delivering voice applications to mobile
devices. Agito's patent pending sub-second, automatic handover of calls
between WiFi and cellular is transparent to users. Agito's solution gives IT
administrators the confidence to roll out VoWLAN across their enterprise,
knowing the user experience will be as good as their wired phones, and that
they can significantly reduce cellular expenses.
