Global Leader in Business Technology Media Expands Web, Global and Customer-
Facing Resources
SAN FRANCISCO, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- TechWeb, now a division of United
Business Media LLC, today announced several new positions and promotions
around its online platforms, the expansion of customer-facing resources, and
the strengthening of its infrastructure for global business. Promotions
include: Tom Smith as Vice President of Web Analytics; Greg Kerwin as Vice
President of Global Development; Brandon Friesen as Vice President of Sales;
Chris Harding as Vice President of Integrated Media; John Dennehy as Vice
President of Finance; and Beth Rivera as Vice President of Human Resources.
New to the TechWeb team are Martha Schwartz joining Harding as Vice President
of Integrated Media, Mike Grover as Director of SEO Strategy, and Phil
Ripperger as Director of Sales of TechWeb's Security Events portfolio.

With a significant focus on Web analytics and Search Engine Optimization,
Tom Smith, formerly Editor in Chief of the TechWeb Network, has been promoted
to Vice President, Web Analytics to leverage his Web-native expertise and
knowledge across content operations and the entire digital network. Mike
Grover worked for TechWeb as Director of Marketing during TechWeb's initial
build out and returns to lead its search engine practice. Tom Smith will
continue to report to SVP, Content Director Bob Evans and Mike Grover will
report to Tom Smith.
As TechWeb grows its global presence, Kerwin's responsibilities have
expanded, from internal business development for TechWeb's live events group
to a global leadership role across the TechWeb portfolio. Kerwin will now
report directly to TechWeb CEO Uphoff.
TechWeb has seen an unprecedented opportunity to deliver and manage
integrated, cross-platform programs for technology marketers around the world.
To fuel this growth, Martha Schwartz joins TechWeb from Ziff-Davis Enterprise
where she was instrumental in building their online and integrated media
business. Martha brings with her an extraordinary track record of building
strong and successful programs for customers. Chris Harding continues in his
leadership role of developing large-scale marketing programs for clients and
will join Martha as Vice President of Integrated Media. Martha and Chris will
report to Vice President and Publisher of InformationWeek and the TechWeb
Network, John Siefert. Phil Ripperger joins TechWeb from First light ERA
where he was Director of US sales. Phil will be responsible for driving
integration programs between TechWeb security Events and online sites and will
report to Vice President of TechWeb Event Sales, Marco Pardi.
Recognizing business and sales leadership that is driving the growth of
TechWeb, the following promotions were announced -- John Dennehy from General
Manager to Vice President of Finance, the promotion of Beth Rivera to Vice
President of Human Resources and the promotion of Brandon Friesen to Vice
President of Sales. John and Beth have been major contributors to the
formation and growth of TechWeb. John and Beth will report to the CEO of
TechWeb, Tony Uphoff. Brandon Friesen brings his strong customer and market
knowledge to drive the sales strategy and execution for InformationWeek and
the TechWeb Network. Brandon will continue to report to Vice President and
Publisher, Siefert.
