Sino-Russian Biological Diagnosis Reagents Venture Project Launches in
Changzhou High-Tech District

CHANGZHOU, China, March 31 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- On March 26, the
contract on Sino-Russian diagnosis reagents venture project was formally
signed in the Changzhou national high-tech district of Jiangsu Province. Both
parties will cooperate to research and develop enzyme-linked immunosorbent
assay (ELISA) reagent and biological chips.
The cooperation is based on capital contribution by the Chinese party --
Changzhou Fangyuan Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. and technological patent of Russian
party -- IMDi Co., Ltd. Changzhou Fangyuan Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd will make
use of the existing technology of IMDi to produce enzyme-linked immunosorbent
assay (ELISA) reagent and biological chips. According to the contract, the
products will be put into production in Changzhou high-tech district and put
on to the market this year.
''The disease can be diagnosed quickly through a drop of blood of the
patient in some ten minutes or several hours'', according to principal of
Fangyuan Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technology
can rapidly screens and quantitatively detects the existing of antigen in a
sample, clinically. It mainly targets on the regular check and diagnosis of
chlamydia, neisseria gonorrhoeae, herpes viruses, AIDS, and virus of hepatitis
A, B, and C.
Biological chips technology is a new technology that is rapidly developed
in the field of life science in recent years. The technological features of
this Sino-Russian cooperation are its strong specificity and high sensitivity.
It can carry out early diagnosis of the disease, so as to free the patient
from the worries of waiting long period for the inspection results and more
helpful to prevent and cure the disease. The pregnancy diagnosis reagent for
identifying whether the embryo has suffered from congenital disease has
reached international standards, and is mainly used for diagnosis of various
inheritable diseases, tumour, viral and other diseases.
It is known that IMDi Co., Ltd has started the scientific development of
enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay since 1994. It boasts one of the leading
enterprises among enzyme-linked immunosorbent reagents manufacturers. While
the research and develop of enzyme-linked immunosorbent reagents in China is
just at the beginning, the quality of the reagent product is not stable hence
unable to clinically applied in large scale. The implementation of the project
will increase the stability of Chinese enzyme-linked immunosorbent reagents,
expand it application area, promote the development of Chinese immunity
analysis technology and make a domestic breakthrough.
