Cooley Strengthens Fund Formation Practice With Addition of Partner in Boston

  BOSTON, MA, Mar 31 (MARKET WIRE) -- 
 Cooley Godward Kronish LLP announced today that Kimberley J. ("Kim")
Kaplan-Gross has joined the Firm as a partner in the Venture Capital group. 
She will be based in Cooley's Boston office, which has tripled in size since
itsopening in July 2007.   Kaplan-Gross was previously a partner with DLA Piper
in Boston.

    Kaplan-Gross represents international and domestic private investment

and other direct private equity funds, as well as primary and secondary
funds-of-funds. In fundraising, she advises fund sponsors on legal
structuring matters, guides them in market positioning and setting proposed
terms
and conditions, and leads their investor negotiations. In addition,
Kaplan-Gross represents institutional investors in their investments in private
equity funds.

    Kaplan-Gross earned her B.S. in 1989 from Boston University and her J.D. cum
laude from University of Miami Law School in 1994, where she was the Senior
Articles Editor of the Law Review and Order of the Coif.   She is a
frequent presenter at conferences focused on the private equity industry.

    Cooley's Boston office opened in July 2007 and has grown from 10 to 30
