                  Signet Group plc - Voting Rights and Capital

In accordance with DTR 5.6.1 Signet Group plc (the Company) announces that it
has an issued and voting share capital of 1,705,510,466 ordinary shares of 0.9
US cents each.  No shares are held in Treasury.

The above figure 1,705,510,466 may be used by shareholders as the denominator
when calculating their interests in the Company for the purpose of determining
whether they are required to notify their interest under the FSA's Disclosure
and Transparency Rules.
