Drilling at Real de Catorce in Mexico Continues to Deliver High Grade Intercepts for Normabec as Hole VMP-18 Cuts 1,014

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, Mar 31 (MARKET WIRE) --
Normabec Mining Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: NMB)(FRANKFURT: N6M)
("Normabec" or "the Company"), through its wholly owned Mexican
subsidiary Minera Real Bonanza S.A. de C.V. ("MRB"), is pleased to
announce additional high grade silver and base metal results from its on
going surface and underground drilling programs on the Veta Madre
structure at the Real de Catorce Silver project in north-central Mexico.
High grade intersections continue to be generated from both surface and
underground drilling as highlighted by hole VMP-18, which returned 1,014
g/t Ag, 2.31 % Pb and 1.82 % Zn over 4.50 m; VMP-17, which returns 351
g/t over 5.40 m and hole VMS-12 which intersected 550 g/t Ag over 5.05 m.
Underground Drilling:
The results below (in tabular form), relate to the ongoing drilling
program that is being carried out to delineate the depth extension of the
Purisima oreshoot. This portion of the Veta Madre structure carries
bonanza grade silver as well as important base metal credits. The
drilling zone is located below historical mine workings, and confirms the
extension of the silver mineralization below the water table and at
depth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
VMP 17 55.00 56.90 1.90 178 0.04 0.25 0.12 Refugio vein

242.65 247.15 4.50 1,014 0.17 2.31 1.82 Veta Madre
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to the Veta Madre intercepts, drilling along the Purisima
depth extension is yielding significant results from the Refugio vein as
well as other footwall and hanging wall veins to the Veta Madre.
Lower baser metal results from hole VMP-17 are indicative of its position
right at water table. VMP-18 was oriented to intersect the structure 50
metres below the water table which correlates to the higher base metal
assays in this hole. It should also be noted that these holes are the
westernmost intercepts released to date on the Purisima oreshoot. The
oreshoot remains wide open to the west and at depth.
Surface Drilling:
Systematic surface drilling of the Veta Madre structure continues to
yield the expected silver grade mineralization. In-fill drilling is being
performed at 40-50m spacing, from surface down to the 150 metre level
approximately. The following table shows the latest results obtained from
surface drilling along a productive portion of the Veta Madre structure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
DRILL FROM TO WIDTH Ag Cu Pb Zn COMMENTS
HOLE m m m ppm % % %
----------------------------------------------------------------------
VMS-12 50.50 55.55 5.05 550 0.03 0.19 0.14 Veta Madre
VMS-23 116.75 124.55 7.80 242 0.03 0.10 0.06 Veta Madre
VMS-25 162.75 166.60 3.85 139 0.04 0.13 0.12 Veta Madre
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hole VMS-23 is the westernmost hole drilled from surface on Veta Madre
to date. Once again, mineralization is wide open to the west and at
depth. On the other hand, VMS-12 is the easternmost intercept from
surface released to date. The mineralized structure remains wide open to
the east as well.
Mr. Robert Ayotte, President of Normabec commented that, "we are very
pleased with the results achieved during this phase of drilling at Real
de Catorce. These results only add to our confidence that the systematic
exploration program we are undertaking will return Real de Catorce to the
prolific mining district it once was."
Further, the company has retained Micon International Limited to
undertake a 43-101 compliant preliminary resource calculation, and
expects that this report will be available by mid-summer.
Samples were prepared and assayed at Chemex Lab of Guadalajara, Mexico.
Methods used are Au-ICP21 for gold and ME-ICP41 for multi elements
including silver. Detection limits for Ag are 0.2 - 100 ppm. Silver
values higher than 100 ppm are submitted to method AG-AA46 consisting of
aqua regia digestion with ICP-AES or AA finish (up to 1,500 ppm Ag). QAQC
was performed using two silver standards and one blank being introduced
alternatively (every 25 samples). Duplicates are being performed by the
laboratory.

and qualified person as defined by NI 43-101 of the Canadian Securities
Administrators.

advanced projects including: the Pitt Gold project in Quebec and Real de
Catorce Silver project in Mexico.
