-Renowned Prevention Expert Dr. Ken Thorpe to Address Congress's
Role -
- National Polling Data on Efforts Americans are Taking will be
Unveiled -
WASHINGTON--(Business Wire)--
Americans today seem fixated on their personal health, but are the
steps they take actually achieving measurable results and cost
savings? If so, how? And if not, then why not? These questions will be
the focus of a nationwide survey and congressional panel discussion
entitled The Politics of Prevention - Washington's Role in a More
Health Conscious Society.
Dr. Ken Thorpe, a former Clinton administration health official
and current Executive Director of the Partnership to Fight Chronic
Disease, will be joined by Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and senior Hill
staff to discuss several pieces of legislation aimed at increasing
preventive health care awareness and treatment. Additionally, a
national poll will be unveiled that explores how Americans view
preventive medicine - both as a national concern and with respect to
their own choices and lifestyles.
The forum is the latest in a speaker series hosted by Erickson
Health - an integrated network of physicians, services, technology,
and research designed to empower people to live even better, no matter
what their health.
