Chicken Isn't Just a Lunch and Dinner Entree Option Anymore

ST. LOUIS, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Long a staple on its breakfast menu in
the South, Hardee's(R) is now rolling-out the popular Chicken Fillet Biscuit
to its restaurants system-wide. Consumer interest in breakfast sandwiches and
entrees without eggs has been on the rise for many years, from cold pizza to
hot burgers, so the chain believes the time is right to bring the Chicken
Fillet Biscuit to the masses.
"For generations, people in the South have been eating biscuits with
various types of meat in them -- and no eggs -- for breakfast," said Brad
Haley, Hardee's executive vice president of marketing. "Over the years we
have sold many, many breakfast biscuits with not only traditional breakfast
meats, like ham or bacon, but also fried chicken, grilled pork chops and other
egg-less creations. When people in other parts of the country hear about this
kind of thing, their first reaction is often one of surprise but, when they
think about it for a moment, they realize that they really don't automatically
have to have eggs on their breakfast sandwiches and that, in this case, fried
chicken on a biscuit sounds pretty darned good in the morning."
The Chicken Fillet Biscuit features a crispy buttermilk battered chicken
breast fillet served on Hardee's signature Made from Scratch biscuit. It will
be sold at participating Hardee's restaurants (and Carl's Jr. restaurants in
Oklahoma City) for $2.99 by itself or $4.59 in a small combo meal. Prices may
vary.
Hardee's Food Systems, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of CKE
