PETER FRIELING NAMED TO KEY SALES POSITION AT COHERIX

Peter J. "Pete" Frieling has been named North American automotive
sales manager for Asian OEM sales at Coherix.

Frieling's accounts will include automotive transplant companies
such as Honda, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota. He also will work with
major automotive suppliers such as Bosch, Borg Warner, Delphi, TRW and
Metaldyne.

"Pete Frieling is a great addition to our team of account

executive officer. "His knowledge of the automotive industry,
especially his expertise in applying metrology techniques to enhance
manufacturing quality, will be a great benefit to us and our

A privately-held supplier of high-tech optical-based measurement
and inspection products for the automotive and semiconductor
industries, the Ann Arbor-based company recently helped found the
Powertrain Engineering & Manufacturing Alliance (PEMAlliance) which is
conducting a three-year, $12-million research program to develop
advanced 3-D digital, high-definition holographic imaging and
inspection systems to improve the quality of automotive engine and
powertrain components.

Prior to joining Coherix, Frieling was a regional account manager
for Metris USA. He also has held key positions at several other
companies, including LK Metrology, Brown & Sharpe and Lear
Corporation. He began his business career in 1978 as a quality
assurance specialist at Williams International.

A Vietnam veteran, Frieling was in the U.S. Navy from 1972 until
1976. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Aviation Technical School in
Jacksonville, Fla., in 1973, and served aboard the aircraft carrier
U.S.S. Oriskany, attaining the rank of second class petty officer. He
was a member of the naval reserves until the mid-1980s.

Frieling is a graduate of Oakland Community College in Farmington
Hills, Michigan.
