CERRITOS, CA, Mar 31 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD) today announced that it has
been
approved as an American Dental Association's Continuing Education Program (ADA
CERP) Recognized Provider for an additional three years. IALD received its
initial
ADA CERP certification in 2002 and is currently the only active laser training
institute in the United States that has ADA CERP recognition. This
approvalenables the IALD to award continuing education credits to dentists who
attend
training for lasers. To date, more than 600 periodontists and general
practitioners in the U.S. have completed the IALD's Laser BootCamp, a laser
training program for dentists.
Established in 1993, ADA CERP offers its members and the dental community
away to evaluate providers of continuing dental education and assists state
boards and other organizations that have continuing education requirements to
identify
providers whose activities are acceptable for credit. Through an application and
review process, the ADA CERP evaluates institutions and organizations that
provide continuing education in 15 aspects of program quality; only those
providers that meet ADA CERP standards and procedures are granted approval. Once
approved, continuing education providers are held accountable for maintaining
those same high standards.
The IALD works in association with Millennium Dental Technologies, Inc.,
developer of the Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure(TM) (LANAP(TM)), the
first
and only periodontal protocol to receive FDA clearance, and manufacturer of
the PerioLase(R) MVP-7, the first laser designed for and dedicated to the
treatment of moderate to severe gum disease.
About Laser BootCamp
Laser BootCamp is a three-day, clinical hands-on, dentist-to-dentist
training mandatory for
all dentists who will perform Laser Periodontal Therapy(TM) on patients. An
additional one-day advanced session at six months introduces dentists to
further uses of laser technology and a final one-day training at 12 months
helps dentists hone and refine their techniques.
