Jim Davis Retires as Head of Genesee & Wyoming's Rocky Mountain Region,
Succeeded by Paula Henry
GREENWICH, Conn., March 31, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genesee &
Wyoming Inc. (GWI) (NYSE: GWR) today announced the retirement of James M.
Davis, senior vice president, Rocky Mountain Region and president of the Utah
Railway Company. He is succeeded by Paula J. Henry, who was previously chief
operating officer of Tacoma Rail.
Davis, who has more than 40 years in railroading, joined GWI subsidiary
Rail Link, Inc., in January 1996 and was responsible for all industrial
railcar switching operations nationwide. When GWI acquired the Utah Railway in
2002, he was named its general manager and later senior vice president of
GWI's Utah Region, which became the Rocky Mountain Region in 2007.
"Jim's work ethic and leadership skills made him a natural in the role of
starting up new operations," said Rail Link founder and GWI Chief Operating

Paula Henry joins GWI from the City of Tacoma, Wash., Department of Public
Utilities, where she was deputy chief operating officer of Tacoma Rail from
July 1998 to December 2005 and chief operating officer since then. She was
responsible for overall safety, management, operation and maintenance of
approximately 195 miles of track.

Henry is an executive board member of the American Short Line and Regional
Railroad Association (ASLRRA) and a member of the National Association for
Railroad Female Executives, Inc. She earned a B.A. in regional urban planning
from Western Washington University.
GWI is a leading owner and operator of short line and regional freight
railroads in the United States, Canada and Australia and owns a minority
interest in a railroad in Bolivia. Operations currently include 48 railroads
organized in eight regions, with more than 5,700 miles of owned and leased
track and approximately 3,000 additional miles under track access
arrangements. GWI provides rail service at 12 U.S. ports and also performs
contract coal loading and railcar switching for industrial customers.
