Computer Measurement Group Announces Keynote and Plenary Speakers for CMG'08

TURNERSVILLE, N.J., March 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Computer
Measurement Group (CMG), the Information Technology professionals responsible
for planning, measuring and managing the world's largest IT infrastructures,
announced today that it has finalized its keynote and plenary speakers for the
34th International Computer Measurement Group annual conference (CMG'08)
taking place from December 7 -12 in Las Vegas, NV at the ParisLas Vegas
Hotel..

Steve Sams, IBM Vice President for Site and Facilities Services Worldwide, is
the keynote speaker at CMG'08.  IBM's Site and Facilities Services Worldwide
has designed and built over 30 million square feet of raised floor, including
five of Japan's top 14 green buildings, the largest data center in Egypt, and
a supercomputing center in Barcelona. Mr. Sams has been influential in setting
direction for IBM having served as vice president of strategy for IBM's server
group, and vice president of IBM's corporate strategy.

His topic, "Think Green - How Green Computing can Pay for Itself" will examine
five areas that could improve a data center's energy management through the
process of diagnosing, building, virtualizing, cooling, managing and
measuring.  Attendees will learn how other clients -- and IBM -- have
implemented these areas to gain immediate business benefit to double their IT
capacity, reduce operational costs by 50% annually, while having a positive
impact on the environment.  There will be a discussion of how the roles of the
CIO, CFO and CEO can contribute to going green.

Paul Strong, distinguished research scientist at eBay, Inc., is the plenary
speaker at CMG'08.  His work is focused on enterprise grid architectures and
technologies, and he is driving the long term vision and strategy for eBay's
infrastructure management within that context. 

His topic, "The Shape of Infrastructure to Come," will provide a brief
overview of eBay, the world's largest virtual economy, enabling 240+ million
registered users to trade a vast array of goods, with about 110 million
individual items available on the site at any one time.  Mr. Strong will
discuss its infrastructure, how it has evolved, the future data center
infrastructure and the challenges ahead. 

The keynote address will take place on Monday, December 8 at 1:15 p.m. and the
plenary session is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m.
