Restaurant Chain to Support WFAA and North Texas Food Bank in Oprah's Big
Give: Operation North Texas

THE COLONY, Texas, March 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pizza Inn Inc.
(Nasdaq: PZZI) has announced its plans to join Dallas-based ABC television
affiliate WFAA-TV, Channel 8 and Oprah's Big Give as they partner with the
North Texas Food Bank in Operation North Texas, a program designed to benefit
school-age children throughout the area.
WFAA has chosen the North Texas Food Bank - specifically their "Food 4
Kids" program - as its partner in the campaign. The Food 4 Kids program
supplies participating schools in the North Texas area with nutritious, kid-
friendly self-serve food designed to fill a backpack during the school year.
Children identified by school personnel as being at risk of hunger receive
these backpacks each Friday. The peanut butter collected will directly benefit
this program.
"We cannot think of a more worthy cause," said Charlie Morrison, President
and CEO of Pizza Inn and a member of the North Texas Food Bank Board of
Directors. "Our Support Center volunteers and supplier partners are already
working within the community to do one thing, collect peanut butter
donations."
Pizza Inn invites the public to donate peanut butter at its West Plano
restaurant, located at 6509 W. Park Boulevard (near the intersection of Park
Boulevard and Midway Road), starting Monday, March 31 through Sunday, April 20
during normal business hours. Pizza Inn will also be accepting donations at
its National Support Center, located at 3551 Plano Parkway in The Colony from
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Fridays during the same dates.
Pizza Inn is asking the public to donate peanut butter packaged in 18 oz.
or smaller plastic jars requiring no refrigeration. Drop-off boxes will be
available at both locations.
"Pizza Inn exemplifies corporate commitment and giving back to the
community. We value their partnership in helping us in our mission of pursuing
a hunger-free community," said Jan Pruitt, CEO of North Texas Food Bank.
As part of its support of Oprah's Big Give: Operation North Texas, Pizza
Inn will also be providing free pizza to volunteer workers at the WFAA/ Dallas
Stars Peanut Butter drive-thru, scheduled from 5:00 -10:00 p.m. on the evening
of April 4 at the WFAA studio, located at Victory Plaza in front of the
American Airlines Center.
