SEOUL, April 1 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (005930.KS), the world's largest maker of memory chips, is considering a single digit percent rise in its key computer memory chips in April, an executive said on Tuesday.

"We are considering a slight hike in DRAM prices," Chu Woosik, Samsung's executive vice president in charge of investor relations, said by telephone.

"But current market conditions do not warrant a big price increase," he added.

Japanese rival Elpida Memory Inc 6665.T said on Monday it aimed to raise the price of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) by 20 percent in April. (Reporting by Marie-France Han and Rhee So-eui, editing by Keiron Henderson)
